I think at a moment this critical both for journalism and the country, our track encompasses both the practical training sessions and the passion for storytelling. It should also speak to the issues that concern journalists' safety and precautions and emphasize the way our industry is evolving in its approach, specifically under this administration.

My goal for this year’s NAHJ conference is to provide attendees with a blend of sessions that are FUN, engaging, informative, and up-to-date. I want everyone at NAHJ, whether they're early in their career or have decades of experience in broadcast journalism, to walk away having learned something new that can enhance both their professional and personal lives whether it is how to make a live blog, a topical newsletter, an intimate podcast, a new channel with vertical videos, and more.

Online abuse silences journalists, especially those who are women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people of color. Through the health and safety track, we can provide Latine journalists with resources to navigate online harassment. We aim to share a holistic approach to safety that includes practicing self-care, responding to online abuse, and developing healthy strategies to help keep Latine journalists in the industry.

Every year, NAHJ welcomes pitches for programming ideas for the 2025 NAHJ Conference being held in Chicago, July 9-12. NAHJ looks for session ideas that demonstrate relevance to journalism or media-related fields. Each proposal is expected to include hands-on skills training. Decisions will be made by the NAHJ2025 Programming Committee.
Timeline
December 2 - December 23
Track Leaders collect and review all submitted pitches.
January 6 - January 10
Track Leaders makes final decisions regarding pitches.
February 3 - February 7
Submitters are contacted about the status of their pitches.

NAHJ welcomes pitches for programming ideas for the 2025 NAHJ Conference being held in Chicago, July 9-12.
NAHJ is looking for session ideas that demonstrate relevance to journalism or media-related fields. Each proposal is expected to include hands-on skills training.
Decisions will be made by the NAHJ2025 Programming Committee and will be based on the following criteria: overall quality, well-defined topic, timeliness of topic, relevance to the profession, and speaker affiliation.

Jan 6-10: Track Leaders makes final decisions regarding pitches
Feb 3-7: Submitters are contacted about the status of their pitches
